Dr. Sorensen is from Stone Harbor, NJ and is a 2014 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed a one-year internship in general medicine and surgery at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ. Since that time she has worked in emergency, shelter, and general practice medicine, and most recently she has finished 3 years working at the Urgent Care Department with The Ohio State University. Though all of these travels have been fun, she is so excited to return home to the East coast.
Dr. Sorensen is also certified in acupuncture and loves exploring alternative ways to manage our aging pets’ pain. Her clinical interests include toxicology, wound repair, and protecting the human animal bond.
When not working Dr. Sorensen loves to hang with her hound dog Joey, husband Steve, and toddler Lewis. She loves horseback riding and foxhunting, Pilates, sailing, and being at the beach with her family. Winter is her favorite season, though, and she is lucky enough to combine her career with her passion every March as a trail veterinarian for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska.
